Connecting with people in a good way can be very useful. It can help you learn, enjoy, and experience the upsides of digital life. Connecting with people in bad ways can get you in trouble and can be harmful to your usage of digital technology.

How much do you know about your privacy and digital footprint?

Having the most privacy possible is the safest way to go when using technology. The internet is not your diary, and you shouldn’t tell the world about your life. You never really know who people are on the internet because they could possibly be anyone or anything. On the internet anyone can make anything look like it really happened. There is a reason for safety online.

Do you express yourself with your true identity, or a fake one?

When creating an account on a social network you should be yourself, without giving too much away. But when you use an online gaming site, you are free to be whoever you want. When playing on an online gaming site, it’s like being another person. You have lots of options to express yourself. Research shows that up to 27% of Facebook users have created fake accounts. Identity is a big part of today’s life.

How do you give and get credit online?

Plagiarism- noun; the unauthorized use of close imitation of the language and thoughts of another author and the representation of them as one’s own original work. Taking credit for someone else’s work online is illegal unless you use quotations and give credit to the author. If you write something and are proud of it, be sure to put your name on it, otherwise someone else could publish your work.

Can you keep up with new digital technology?

Phone companies are coming out with new phones every month. New devices are booming. If you get something new, before you know it, something newer comes out. You may not realize it, but state-of-the-art technology is on the verge of becoming part of entire lives.
