Election date:  November 8, 2011

Voting place:  Madison City Armory (120 N. Van Eps Ave.)

Polls are open:  7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Who can vote:  Anyone registered to vote in Madison Central School District who has lived in the jurisdiction at least 30 days in the last year.  To check registration, contact the County Auditor at 256-7600 or the Business Manager at 256-7710.

Vote required for approval: To be approved, 60% of the voters voting on the question must vote in favor of issuing the bonds.

Financial and tax information:

  • Total amount of bonds-$14,615,000; $6,315,000 in General Obligation bonds and $8,300,000 in capital outlay bonds, both over 20 years.
  • Principal and interest payments are made with the proceeds of a dedicated tax levy
  • Estimated tax rate-$0.63 t- $0.65 per $1,000 of valuation

Note:  Actual taxes will be a factor of the interest rate paid on the bonds determined at the time of issuance, the taxable valuation, and the amount of principal and interest due during the tax year.
