Inclement weather or other emergencies sometimes makes it necessary that school be canceled for the day. KJAM radio (1390 AM)(103.1 FM) will be notified as soon as a decision is made. When uncertain weather conditions exist, parents and students are encouraged to listen to KJAM. Please do not call the school or KJAM to ask if school is canceled, as this ties up phone lines that are needed in order to gather information concerning road and weather conditions so that a decision can be made. Information on emergency dismissals can also be found at KELO, KDLT and KSFY television stations or WNAX radio station.

Early dismissal may also occur. Parents who have younger children and who may not be home if an early dismissal occurs are encouraged to have a plan in place for how their children are to be taken care of. Be sure children are not locked out of the house if an early dismissal occurs.

If parents think weather conditions are such that their children should not board the bus for school or drive in for morning activities, then they should make the decision to keep them home.
