cross country

On September 26, the Madison cross country team traveled to Volga, SD, where they competed at the Sioux Valley Invite at the Meadow Creek Golf Course. The races that the Bulldogs competed in involved girls’ varsity, boys' varsity, girls’ and boys’ J.V., and girls’ and boys’ middle school.

Our one medalist in the girls' varsity race was Jessie Tappe, placing 11th overall. The girls placed fifth at the meet.

Medalists for the boys' varsity race included Dylan Gerdes who placed first while setting the course record by several seconds. Other medalists were Daniel Aldridge, placing 10th; Henry Meyer, placing 15th; and Nathan Hasleton, placing 17th. The boys ended up winning the meet for their portion and took home a plaque to represent the Madison Bulldogs.

Medalists for J.V. girls were Kyra Wiese, placing 4th; Eden Durandt, placing 6th; Evelyn Davis, placing 13th; Molly Engebretson, placing 14th; and Charlotte Hasleton, placing 16th. The Bulldogs had one boy medalist in boys’ J.V., Gavin Taylor, who placed 10th.

Our final race was the middle school boys and girls. Madison girls who placed include Hayden Hansen in 1st and Rachel Bonner in 4th. Madison boys who placed were Gordon Olson in 4th, Kordell Trigg in 6th, and Houston Bryant in 7th.

Come support the Madison Bulldogs at their last meet (region meet) in Sioux Falls at the Yankton Trails Park on October 11 at 2 p.m.
