Senior Delaney Marie Gerry, daughter to parents Shannon and Corey, has lived in Madison her entire life. She is currently employed at One Stop and one of her favorite parts of working there is having a close relationship with Char, her manager, who Delaney refers to as “Gam Gam”. Delaney enjoys spending her free time with friends and going to support the Bulldogs at school sporting events, such as football and volleyball. When asked, Delaney said her favorite dress-up theme is red, white, and blue. She only has one sibling, which is her older sister, Taylor, whom she greatly admires. Delaney says she has seen her sister overcome many difficult obstacles and that she always works hard, which encourages her to do the same. Delaney says that her sister is one person that she can always count on.
If there is one thing Delaney could recommend, it would be The Land Before Time. The Land Before Times is one of Delaney’s all-time favorite movie series because “The dinos are so cute.” In fact, when asked if she could play any character from a movie, she answered, “Ducky from The Land Before Time,” because Ducky is happy and always has a fun time. Delaney believes Ducky’s character describes her well as they are both ethical, mature, caring, and protective. One thing Delaney could not live without is the company of others, which explains why she loves spending time with friends and family in her free time.
Next year Delaney plans to go to Mitchell Technical College for radiology. Ten years from now, she sees herself working as a radiology tech with a stable income and married with kids and dogs. She dreams of living on a farm with mini cows and fainting goats. When asked if she could live anywhere in the world for a year she stated, “Definitely not Australia because they have way too many bugs.” She would, however, like to live in places like Italy, Greece, or Germany because she is interested in the history behind these places. Some advice she would give to underclassmen is: “Don’t let others stop you;” “Have fun or you will regret it later in life;” and “Always do your best.”
