Chase Matthew Steuerwald, also known as “Chaz” or “Steue” by friends and family, was born and raised in Madison, South Dakota. Chase’s family consists of his mom, Marsha; his dad Matthew; and his sister, Brianna. In his free time, he likes to spend time with his family playing various games or working on cars with his dad. In addition to this, some things that come easily to Chase are changing tires, preparing the body of the car, and checking the race track. He learned all of this from his dad, who has been a racecar driver for approximately twenty-five years. Another nickname for Chase would be “crew chief” since that is his title when at the racetrack. If Chase had a YouTube channel, he would create videos working on race cars and driving them.
Along with working on cars, Chase also enjoys eating crab legs from Red Lobster. In fact, he recommends eating there at least once in your life. Sadly, he rarely gets to enjoy crab legs due to the fact that his dad is allergic to shellfish. Another thing Chase enjoys is working his summer job at Dakota Curb and Stone. He shares that the best part about this job is, “getting to see the final outcome.”
Not only can Chase fix race cars, but he can also sing. He has been in choir for five years, and shares the best part is, “getting to see friends and being loud.” Some other school activities Chase enjoys are tennis and cross country.
When asked what he would like to do with five million dollars, Chase shares he would like to travel the world. One place he would like to see is the Netherlands for its beautiful scenery and delicious food. He would also contribute this money to completing a few items on his bucket list such as buying his own race car, skydiving, and bungee jumping. Ten years from now Chase sees himself traveling and racing. However, after high school, Chase plans to find a job and potentially work for the City of Madison. His advice for underclassmen is, “Enjoy the years because it goes by fast.”
