Aaron Mark Hawkes, or “A-a-ron,” son of Mark and Joy Hawkes and the youngest brother of five siblings, has lived in Madison his whole life. With his hard work towards his education and faith, Aaron plans to take part in a two-year mission trip before attending Brigham Young University to receive his undergraduate in pre-medicine, then attending medical school.
As a yard keeper and lifeguard at the Madison Aquatic Center, Aaron states that the most rewarding part of his job is “knowing how to save a life and respond to emergencies.” Aaron’s love for movies allows him to appreciate the cinematic arts and emphasizes his ability to recognize a good movie. His favorite movies include O Brother Where Art Thou, Remember the Titans, Gladiator, and The Ocean's Trilogy. His role model of Jesus and strong faith-driven mentality allow him to exemplify his biggest fear: nothing. Although he may slightly waiver at the idea of getting shot, Aaron establishes that “fear is a limiting factor.” Aaron’s free time is usually spent training in the field of CrossFit, running at most two miles, and training for his record-holding track events.
On his bucket list, Aaron has goals to go cliff jumping, skydiving, travel, hike mountains, bike across the United States, and climb a silo ladder. In ten years, Aaron sees himself furthering his education and hopefully having a family of his own. Aaron’s advice to underclassmen is to “keep a broad perspective on life.”
