★ 5/10
I give the Trolls Band Together movie a 5/10 because, although it was funny the first time that we watched it, it wasn't very well-written, and would not be a good movie to watch a second time. I think that the music added to the plot and helped it to develop into a better movie.
Since the movie was made for children, it was a good movie for them. It was light-hearted and funny enough to keep the children entertained, but anyone older than nine might not find it as funny. The movie had some funny moments for the older people, but they were few and far between.
The movie itself seemed not to have a plot. It had a general plot of the trolls waiting to save the family, but it wasn't apparent as you watched the movie. There were so many side plots, including the wedding and honeymoon and meeting Bruce’s family and Poppy’s sister. It was hard to tell what the actual plotline was.
The songs did a great job of adding to the plot and helped move the story forward. They added to the movie and helped engage the audience. Although, they are not songs most people would listen to on their own time.
In conclusion, I would say that I enjoyed the movie and had fun while watching the movie. Trolls Band Together was fun and exciting, but it was a little bit slow at times. Overall, because of the writing, the characters, the plot, and the song choice, I would rate the new Trolls Band Together movie a 5/10.

★5.5/10
I give the Trolls Band Together movie a 5.5 because it is creatively told and entertaining, but not very well-written. The songs added to the movie without stealing the spotlight. However, I’m not entirely sure if the movie had an actual script or if it was, instead, written by a group of children describing a strange dream they had. The movie had a difficult time maintaining a good pace; it often switched between being a complete bore and being almost difficult to follow.
The movie held its out-of-pocket humor and was built off of the creative world introduced in the first two movies. To most children, it was a brilliant light show with funny movie characters and tuneful songs. However, to anyone older than, say, nine, this movie was difficult to watch and tended to drag on. I would most certainly recommend this movie to children, as it was written and intended for this audience. However, it did have a few mature jokes that would fly right over an average nine-year-old’s head.
Yet, I did enjoy the majority of the side plots as it was extremely amusing to watch the minor characters waltz in and out of the main plot without really trying to help. They allowed the movie to develop further and kept the pace up. It also allowed the audience to see into the entertaining lives of Poppy’s friends and adversaries.
In conclusion, this movie was fun and exciting, but it did drag on.
Overall we both enjoyed watching the movie because of its out-of-pocket humor, which made it funny enough to be interesting. If we were to rank the whole movie series from best to worst, the order would be as follows: Trolls, Trolls Band Together, then Trolls World Tour. We would recommend that you go to this movie, especially if you have younger siblings or just enjoy out-of-pocket humor.
