Emily Thompson

Emily Marie Thompson, or as some people call her, “Em,” is a senior at Madison High School. She is the daughter of Chris and Lisa Thompson and has a younger brother named Ryder. Her father moved here from Louisiana, and his upbringing is evident in his cooking choices. Emily enjoys watching the Gilmore Girls, her favorite character being Rory. She is amused by Rory's tenacity and drive, but also her brilliant yet snappy dialogue. If Emily were to choose to be any animal, she would be a koi fish, which shares some similar characteristics with Rory. Both are seemingly quiet on the outside, yet they are energetic and animated.

When asked her favorite color, Emily replied almost instantaneously, “pink.” If she is in a city that has her favorite restaurant, Olive Garden, you might find her with a bowl of their specially crafted Chicken Alfredo. Some things that come easily to Emily are math and English; she said, “They just make sense.” Emily keeps herself busy working at The Office as a server, her favorite part being receiving compliments about the service. Outside of work, Emily enjoys driving around and hanging out with her friends.

After high school, Emily will start her journey to become an orthodontist. She plans to attend the University of Montana to major in biology. From there, she will go to dental school where she will spend the next couple of years learning the necessary skills to be an orthodontist. In 10 years’ time, she hopes to be running her own orthodontist office and maybe even having some kids of her own. Wishing for simpler times, if Emily could travel to any time period, she would choose the 70's since she enjoys their style and way of life. Another thing that sparks her interest in the 70's era is the lack of phones and modern technology, which would result in the ability to converse with people without the distraction of social media.

A recommendation Emily has would be to, “Go get your nails done.” She makes it clear that the compliments far outweigh the cost. If given five million dollars, Emily would go on a huge shopping spree to buy lots of Legos and clothes. She also added that she would get a really nice car, as it would be something she couldn’t live without. Her advice for underclassmen is, to not allow school to become the biggest stressor in their lives.
