Mercedes Walker

Mercedes Myrrha Walker was born in Worthington and moved to Madison when she was about one or two years old. Mercedes’ family consists of her mom, Stacy; her brother, Justis; and her chihuahua, Peanut. Mercedes says that her family is the one thing she could never live without and labels them her “biggest supporters.” Mercedes currently works at Subway and she says the most rewarding thing about working there is being able to help her co-workers and the customers. When asked about what she does during her free time, she said, “Sleeping. All I do.”

If Mercedes could be described by a cartoon character, she says it would have to be Vidia from Tinkerbell. She is confident, caring, and isn’t afraid to stand out. If Mercedes could live anywhere in the world, she would live in South Korea. She says that the culture is stunning and there are many new things to experience there.

Mercedes is a very artistic person. She says, “Art allows me to be myself, and lets me express my creativity.” Mercedes plans to possibly major in art after high school and do something in the future that puts her major to use. In 10 years, Mercedes can see herself having a whole family of dogs. Mercedes’ advice for underclassmen is, “Never back down and never give up.”
