Callie Rose Bounds, or just “Cal,” was born on February 3rd, 2006. She is originally from Colorado but moved to Madison when she was two. She and her mother Liz live at home while her brother, Daniel, is away at college in Minnesota; her sister, Shelby, lives in Texas, and her other sister, Brandi, lives in Colorado.
When asked what she would do with 5 million dollars, Callie stated, “No one person needs 5 million dollars.” So, she would give away most of that fortune to charity if given the chance. Her favorite color is pink, and her favorite foods are Lucky Charms and Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
Callie participates in tennis, softball, basketball, track and field, FCA, Best Buddies, and the Maroon. She works at Dairy Queen and is rewarded by seeing many different faces and being able to help and make her customers happy. Her biggest role model is Jesus because he inspires you to be good to everyone, even if they aren’t good to you, and he reminds you that you can always ask for forgiveness.
One item Callie couldn’t live without is her car, as she uses it to get “everywhere”— “everywhere” being Ramona and Sioux Falls to be with her friends and go shopping. She likes to spend her free time watching movies and listening to music with friends and family. Her favorite subject is English because it comes more easily to her than other subjects. She’s afraid of snakes, spiders, and bugs, which makes her less willing to get outside; camper camping is the only type she will tolerate.
In ten years, Callie sees herself happily married, working at a law firm, maybe with a couple of kids. She plans to go to SDSU to get a bachelor’s in psychology, and then go out-of-state for law school. Her advice to underclassmen would be to try hard for the first three years of your high school career, as “it makes your senior year a lot easier.”
