Brayden James Braskamp is one hard-working, down-to-earth farm boy. Brayden is the oldest sibling in his family of six. He lives on a small ranch east of town with his father, Corey, and his mother, Brooke. This large family loves their rodeos and so does Brayden; one of his biggest goals in life is to make it into the National Finals Rodeo (NFR). Brayden loves it in the Midwest, so if he could go anywhere in the world, he wouldn’t travel far since he wants to hop a state and settle down in North Dakota. His favorite color is blue, but he likes his New York Strip steak dark pink “as any sort of steak should be,” says Brayden. Like most of us, Brayden agrees that Yellowstone is one of the greatest shows to ever be on air.
“Oh, you know it, my truck always looks dirty,” says Brayden about his truck. It happens to be one of the things he thinks he couldn’t live without, and that being said, he has never had trouble with a sense of direction, although it's difficult for some of us. Brayden recommends that everyone spend more time outdoors, and this ties right into his favorite subject, which happens to be his open campus. Beyond working with livestock with his old man, Brayden has a job at Stemper’s Autobody and he claims he can't get enough overtime. If he had any superpower in the world, he would love to fly instead of blowing through gas in his pickup. If there were any way Brayden would be given 5 million dollars, he would buy himself a four-thousand-acre ranch and a second-gen Cummins.
If he was presented with the opportunity to play a movie character, he would be Jordan Belfort from The Wolf of Wall Street. That movie and several others place very high on his recommendation lists. I asked Brayden how long he had been into rodeo, and he claims he has always loved the sport and it has been a part of him since he was 3 years old. Brayden loves his rodeo and has dreams of making it to the NFR, but if all else fails, he is planning on going to Mitchell Tech to specialize in being an electrician. Brayden sees himself as an electrician in the next ten years because “I want to be an entrepreneur and it is in high demand.” If he had any social media content, he would make it all about rodeo, without hesitation. Like most of us, he is deathly afraid of death, and for a really good reason. To leave us on a good note, he wanted to tell us all to “live life one step at a time.”
