Dr. Martin

Dr. Martin is the newest addition to the administration at MHS. He is the 11th-grade chemistry teacher and is here to stay (we hope). Before teaching with us, Dr. Martin worked as a plant manager in Winfred. When asked about his teaching experience at MHS so far, he said it has been very positive. One challenge he's faced is introducing topics to high school students, but he still believes the juniors were ready for their winter finals.

The junior class, he says, “Is also, probably, my favorite class.” A favorite memory of his was when students celebrated “Mol-day” in his class. “Mol-day” is an unofficial holiday celebrating the scientific unit of mols. On this day, Dr.Martin welcomed students to bring in anything related to the word mol. Many students brought in guaca-“mole” or drew pictures of skin moles, but one group brought a large cake of an animal mole. He says he is glad he began this tradition at MHS and is excited to celebrate again next year. He also says that working with the students has been great and has already made him a better teacher. It is safe to say Dr. Martin’s presence is greatly appreciated by staff, but it is especially appreciated by students, as the class of 2025 is very grateful to have an exemplary teacher.
