Mia Parish Hein is a 17-year-old senior at Madison High School. Mia’s nickname comes mainly from her family, where she is called “Sassafrass” due to her sassiness growing up. Mia has lived in Madison her whole life with her mother and three siblings. In high school, Mia participates in color guard and choir. In choir, Mia is involved in a couple of different groups, such as Mad Voices Jazz Choir and All-State Chorus. When asked what comes easily to her, she responded with music and art.
Some of Mia’s favorite things consist of the color black, watching The Gilmore Girls, and eating Taco Bell. Mia states that “Taco Bell should sponsor me because they have gas bean burritos, and I eat there all the time.” One thing that Mia cannot live without is her Lululemon fanny pack; “I carry my life in that thing.” Her favorite subject in school is math, but only when she understands the material. One character that Mia thinks best describes her is Phoebe Buffay from Friends because she is so energetic. One thing that Mia is most proud of is how she maintains a positive attitude throughout her life.
In the future, Mia would like to go to college after graduating from high school, but she is unsure of where she would like to attend and what she would like to do. The one thing she does know is that she wants to be rich and famous one day. In 10 years, Mia sees herself engaged or married with a pet chihuahua. One piece of advice that Mia would give to underclassmen is to “stop worrying so much; it's not that deep.”
