If you were to ask Jamie and Joel Husher who their favorite child is, their answer would be simple: Oliver. Oliver, also known as “Ollie” by friends, is an only child. He has an English Setter, Magnus, and a Jack Russel Terrier, Daphne. Oliver has lived in Madison and attended Madison Central his whole life. When not in school, you might find Oliver working his part-time job at Global Polymer in Madison, where he says, “The most rewarding part is the paychecks.” However, in his free time, he enjoys golfing at the Madison Country Club or spending time at his grandpa’s farm.
Upon graduation, Oliver plans on attending SDSU for engineering, and in ten years, he sees himself living in a shouse in the country with a job in engineering. When looking back at his time at Madison Central, his most fond memory is his first varsity golf meet with upperclassmen as a 7th grader. If Oliver were handed $5 million, he would first purchase a new set of custom golf clubs, a house, and a new truck. Though the one thing Oliver believes he could not live without is his truck, if he could choose a superpower to have, he would skip driving entirely and choose to fly “so it wouldn’t take as long to get places.”
One thing that comes easily to Oliver is homework; he especially finds that math comes easily to him, and he enjoys that subject in school. Lastly, Oliver advises younger classmen, “Classes aren’t as hard as you think; some people just choose not to try.”
