Gillian Nichol Mette, commonly known by her friends as "Gill," has lived in Madison, South Dakota, her entire life. She has a total of 5 family members, including her three sisters. Gillian enjoys working at McDonald's, as it reminds her of a family; “the way that they treat me is just like I am a part of a family.” When Gillian has free time, she spends it drawing, which is something that comes naturally to her.
Gillian’s favorite food is the California sushi roll, her favorite subject in school is science or math, and one item on her bucket list is visiting Japan because she would like to learn more about the culture. She finds the clothing style unique. If Gillian had 5 million dollars, she would spend it on a brand-new Chevy truck and a two-story house, then give the rest to her family.
After high school, Gillian plans to take a gap year to save money. After that year of saving up, she plans to attend DSU or a college in Wyoming to pursue a career as an art teacher, digital artist, or cosmetologist. She sees herself owning a house, a great dane, and having "a lover" in 10 years. Gillian's advice to underclassmen is, "Keep pushing through, even on your worst days; you are not alone. There is always someone to talk to."
