It’s spring again, which means crazy weather, muddy feet, and the last quarter of school. It also means the beginning of the long-awaited golf season. While last year ended very promising, this year is on track to be even better. The 2024 season started with an informational meeting on Monday the 18th in Mr. Liesinger’s room, where Coach Liesinger of 69 seasons celebrated with old players and welcomed new ones. The first day of practice was on the 25th of March and pictures were scheduled for the week of April 2nd-5th.
While all the players are excited to get out on the course, until it opens they have a place at the all-new Sports Plex in the old Campbell supply store. They plan on using the new chipping nets, speed sticks, and hitting nets to improve their game, even during bad weather. Along with boosting their game's playing aspect, they aim to better understand the rules and fundamentals with Coach Liesinger’s rule of the week.
Regions this year is at the Olive Grove Country Club in Groton, a few miles from Aberdeen. State is, once again, on the gorgeous Bakker Crossing Championship Golf Course in Sioux Falls, where the best of the best will play two rounds in two days to win the championship medal.
