Fight Club is a movie made in 1999. The film was directed by David Fincher and is an adaptation of the original “Fight Club” novel which was written by Chuck Palahniuk in 1996. Fight Club explores an abundance of philosophical themes throughout its two-hour and nineteen-minute runtime. Themes which consist of, but are not limited to, identity, consumerist culture, mortality, and masculinity. The film tackles a variety of thought-provoking concepts which are embellished by a surrealistic visual and musical aesthetic. My experience watching Fight Club was not only captivating in its subject matter but also in the way it looked. The “grimy” atmosphere, color palette, style, and sound design of the movie highlight its themes well in an immersive way.
