Lyndsey Litz, MHS Senior, accepting her award from NHC President, Grace Blessinger and NHC Advisor, Mr. Jacob Ludemann.

Lyndsey has been awarded the 2024 National History Club Student of the Year award. This award is given to an NHC chapter member who exemplifies leadership, and distinguishes themselves through academic accomplishment and involvement in events, programs, and educational opportunities involving history.

Lyndsey has been a member of the National History Club since the local chapter was first organized in the spring of 2023. She was chosen to receive the award by local members and advisors, and with the approval of the Executive Director. Lyndsey is enthusiastic about the club’s goals, supportive of other members, and always encourages new ideas. She has volunteered at nearly every NHC event, is currently serving as Treasurer on the NHC Board, and she champions local history and history education.

Lyndsey, and MHS Alumni, Danny Cao, competed in local, regional, and state National History Day in 2024. They made local NHD history themselves when they were awarded 2nd place and were alternates for the National NHD Competition!

In addition to being recognized locally for her achievement, Lyndsey’s name and award will also appear in the national newsletter for NHC.
