Superhero of the Sea Madison Senior Plans to Make Waves in the World
Evelyn Lily Davis, also known as “Ev”, is a senior at Madison High School. She lives at home with her Mom and two younger sisters. Evelyn has lived in Madison for the majority of her life, having previously lived in Seattle, Washington and Wentworth, SD. If Evelyn could choose to live anywhere in the world, she would choose Italy for its beauty.
Running, biking, reading, watching movies, drawing, and taking pictures are just a few of Evelyn’s many hobbies. She also spends her time hanging out with friends, working at the Broadwater, listening to music, and playing Roblox. Evelyn’s favorite musical artist is Frank Ocean. She enjoys all music genres but typically listens to R&B, rap, and indie rock. Evelyn’s bucket list consists of traveling to a different country, riding in a hot air balloon, and climbing Mt. Fiji in Japan. Although all those things are thrilling, Evelyn's number one bucket list item is to be awesome, and, as she stated, “I have already achieved that!”
Following graduation, she plans to study Marine Biology in Florida at Eckerd College. Evelyn dreams of becoming a marine biologist and working with non-government organization’s somewhere on the coast. If she could have any superpower it would be to breathe underwater because it would give her the freedom to swim among the sea life. Even though the ocean fascinates her, Evelyn expresses that if she could be any superhero, she would choose Batman because he is “so fun and has a huge mansion”. In ten years, Evelyn hopes to be married, living somewhere on the west coast or down south with a stable job, nice house, a couple of dogs, and maybe 1 or 2 kids.
Determined to achieve her dreams, she emphasizes that her fear of failure will not stop her from doing whatever it is she wants to do. Evelyn describes her advice to underclassmen, “Don't be afraid to try something new. You’re only in high school once. You have a choice between the pain of failure or the pain of not knowing what could have been, and you only learn to grow from one of those choices.”
