Tehya Hoey Senior Spotlight

The grad cap is off, the future is approaching…Tehya Faith Hoey plans to join the army (if not already enlisted) soon after graduating, and eventually pursue a nursing degree in college. In ten years, she hopes to be married and have a dog, sitting on the front porch of her dream home, her nursing degree already in hand. If she could live anywhere in the world, she would choose somewhere warm because she hates the cold. It only then makes sense that her favorite season is summer; she loves how beautiful it is outside, and that you can swim almost any day! Her bucket list consists of traveling outside the United States, skydiving, backpacking in Europe, and marrying by 30.

Tehya’s motto is “Let go of who you think you are supposed to be and embrace who you are.” She believes sleeping is the best way to waste time because there's nothing better to do. Her most memorable moment is having a Nerf gunfight with Mr. Cordts. Her advice for underclassmen is, “It may seem like your grades don’t matter, but they really do.”

Her family is a significant part of her life; she loves helping people, as it comes naturally to her. She has been working at Bethel as a CNA for 9 months. She is the youngest in the family and has three brothers. She used to live in Orange City, Iowa, and Hartford, South Dakota, before moving to Madison. Her favorite color is pink. She loves green grapes specifically, healthcare shows, Top Gun, Science, and The Bible. In her free time, she watches movies and spends time with her mom.

If she could have any superpower she would want to be able to read people's minds because she hates not knowing what people are thinking. The TV show character she thinks describes her best is Dwight from The Office since he is silly and melodramatic. If she could play any character she would want to play Princess Tiana because she has watched her movies her entire life and always wanted to be in her shoes! She said that if she had a large TikTok or YouTube channel, she would post about the gym, saying, "because I'm a gym rat." Her favorite music genres are country folk, pop, and Christian
