Benjamin Terry Brooks, more commonly known as “Ben,” is a senior at Madison High School. He moved here from Scotland, South Dakota when he was five. If Ben could live anywhere in the world, he would stay in South Dakota because it’s where his family is. In ten years, Ben sees himself living in the midwest and starting a family. He is the youngest of three, as he has an older sister and an older brother. In his free time, Ben enjoys spending time with friends and family, being physically active, and playing video games. To Ben, sports and video games come easily.
When asked about his most memorable moment in high school, Ben says, “Ryan Morse getting kicked in the butt in a field goal attempt.” His advice to underclassmen is to be involved and be kind, and his life motto is “Don’t just be good, be good enough”. Throughout his high school career, his favorite subject has been lunch. His favorite school lunch is tangerine chicken. Unsure of his career choice, Ben still has many goals ahead of him. Ben is headed to Brookings after high school graduation to go to South Dakota State University for football as a tight end.
One of Ben’s bucket list goals is to visit Dave Portney’s top five pizza places. When asked about his favorite food, Ben replies, “A Taco Bell crunch wrap supreme.” His favorite sports team is the Minnesota Vikings. His favorite colors include different shades of blue, orange, and green, and his favorite TV show is Scooby Doo. If Ben could have any job in the world, he would be an ice cream tester, with cookie dough being one of his favorite flavors. If Ben had a YouTube platform, he would make content with his friends, doing Dude Perfect challenges. If he had $5 million, he would buy a huge bed and a nice car.
