A Snapshot Into the Life of Daveney Ann Shaw
Daveney Ann Shaw or “Dave” is the daughter of Adam and Kate Shaw. She has two siblings: brother, Brandon and sister, McKenna. Daveney started preschool in Marion, SD, and lived there until 2013 when she moved to Madison, SD. From a young age, Daveney was a very outgoing and chatty girl, so making new friends was no problem. When asked who her best friend was in 5th grade, she said Lindsey King- and that Lindsey practically lived at Daveney’s house. As far as some of Daveney’s favorite things go, she loves eating her Dad’s famous pork ribs and watching It Ends With Us or Grey’s Anatomy.
Over the years, Daveney has developed a strong love for shopping, whether it be with her friends or her sister. If she had 5 million dollars, she would spend it on hair products, a house, and a blacked-out Ford Expedition. Daveney currently runs her own photography business called daveney.ann.photography and works at the Madison After School Care Program. In Daveney’s free time, she likes to sing and listen to a wide variety of music like hip hop and throwbacks, but her favorite is country. When asked if she had a bucket list, Daveney stated, “Sure, to meet Riley Green. He’s a hot man!” On the other hand, Daveney is terrified of spiders, and passing semis on the road.
In the future, Daveney plans to attend Southeast Technical College for Med-Lab and Phlebotomy. After that, she sees herself working at the Children’s Hospital in Sioux Falls and living in a nice house with her husband, three kids, and her blacked-out Ford Expedition. Daveney’s most memorable moment was when she, “backed out of the driveway and hit a toilet!” She said that her dad marched out with a broom and dustpan and was furious. Her favorite class in high school is choir because it has a fun atmosphere and it feels like a second family. She wants to tell all of the underclassmen to take easy classes because senior year is not as easy as you think. Daveney says she lives her life by this quote: “Don’t become a stranger” -Phoebe Bridgers.
