Cheyenne Uhrig, also known as “Chey”, is a senior at Madison High School. Cheyenne spent one year in Highmore, South Dakota, attending preschool before moving to Madison. She is the youngest out of ten siblings; however, she hasn't met all of them, since some live in a different state. If she were to have five million dollars to spend, she would save most of it, but then give about forty percent to help her family.
Cheyenne fills her time by working at Sunshine Foods as a cashier. She finds it rewarding to earn her own money. Her favorite food is biscuits and gravy from the American Cafe in Iowa. Her favorite book series is The Gilded Ones. She enjoys playing the video game, Slime Rancher.
There are many things that make Cheyenne unique. She has the ability to move her ears. She would like to have the superpower of being invincible because she “gets injured constantly.”
Cheyenne has a big attachment to her cat and cannot live without her cat, Blender. She shared, “I cannot live without my cat because he is my son.” If she had a large social media account she would post more about her cat, especially funny videos. Cheyenne would like a python for a nontraditional pet.
Currently, Cheyenne does not have a bucket list, though she did mention she would like to go to Iceland. She did a research project on it and she thought it seemed peaceful.
After high school, Cheyenne plans on going to college for art and business. Her hope is to become a tattoo artist. When asked where she saw herself in 10 years she stated “working in a tattoo studio building a clientele.” This job fits her well because doing art is something she likes to do in her free time. Art comes easily to her and Cheyenne is known for her creativity. Because of this, her favorite subjects are writing and art.
Looking back at high school, Cheyenne’s most memorable moment was when she went to Vermillion's prom. She advises all the lower classmen to use a planner to keep themselves on track. Her motto is simply “keep going.”
