A “Sorta” South Dakotan Car Guy
William Jase-Mckinlen Hall, son of Amanda and Jason Hall, is a senior at Madison High School. He also goes by Jase, because “There are lots of Williams in the family.” He is a brother to 2 other siblings, Harlan and Addyson. He’s lived in Madison twice, the first time in 2019 and then again after Christmas break in his Sophomore year (22-23). He lived in Wyoming for the other 11 years of his life. Jase loves spending time with his family, and can often be found watching their favorite movie, Home Alone.
Jase also loves watching movies and tv shows on his own. He likes to watch classic sit-coms, but only the classics because, “the new shows are ok, but not as good as the classics.” His favorite tv show is Fresh Prince of Bel Air, but he still likes the other popular sit-coms. Along with tv shows, he loves movies. When asked if he could play any movie character, he answered with, “Tom Holland’s Spiderman. He’s so hot.” Although he likes Spiderman, his favorite movie is Ford vs Ferrari, starring Matt Damon and Christian Bale.
Similar to his favorite movie, Jase is also a huge car fan. When asked about how he likes to spend his free time, he answered with Legos, driving, watching movies, and hanging out with his friends. Jase can often be seen driving his manual 2001 Volkswagen Beetle. He also said that driving a Koenigsegg was on his bucket list. His love for cars has also bled into his Lego addiction. He collects all of the Lego cars he can get his hands on, his favorite being the McLaren P1 set he bought a week prior.
In the future, Jase plans to go on his 2 year mission trip for his church, then come back and attend Mitchell Technical College for Electrical Construction. He thinks it would be a good fit because he is a critical thinker and he enjoys being active. Understanding problems also comes easy to him, so it would tie in to being an electrician quite well. In 10 years, Jase sees himself married with 1 child and continuing his career to become a master electrician. He hopes people can find their path in high school, and encourages underclassmen to, “be better and challenge yourself, even if it’s hard.” He lives his life by the motto, “when you find something you love to do, you’ll never work a day in your life.” He hopes other students will continue their journey and go through life enjoying what they do.
