One Stoplight Town

This year’s one act is titled “One Stoplight Town”. It is the story of people from a small town who all experience change. In this play, we see how the different characters handle change and how they grow up together. We see two young teens fall in love, a wise handywoman, a grumpy grocery store owner, a son returning, and a daughter wanting to run away. We see kids grow up and adults grow old. Our story is filled with heartwarming scenes and a little bit of humor. A stoplight is built in the middle of town (built by Roy Brown), representing the changing times.

This year, one act has been going quite well. Everyone is having fun and growing closer together through the magic of art. “We are ahead of where we usually are for this time in the season,” states Ava Brandenburger, a senior in high school. Everyone is developing their characters quite well and everything is going smoothly. Of course, none of this would be possible without our incredible director Ms. Brown, tech director Mrs. Ford, and tech crew. The tech crew works hard on painting and creating the set while the actors work on stage. Come see “One Stoplight Town” on Sunday, January 26th for our public performance in the high school auditorium. You can also come to support us at our region contest on Tuesday, January 28th at the DSU Playhouse. We hope to see you there!
