Tristen Dean Dorhout is also known as “Doorhooter”, a nickname given to him by fellow teammates and friends. Tristen is a 17-year-old student from MHS. He has lived in Madison all his life with his family of two parents Kari and Corey Dorhout, and 2 younger brothers - Ashten and Braden Dorhout. Tristen’s favorite color is blue and his favorite cartoon character is Peppa Pig. Tristen does not love reading books, but his favorite is Hatchet by Gary Paulsen, and one thing he can't live without is the Bible.
Tristen is a big outdoors guy. He spends his free time farming, fishing, and hunting. Something on Tristen’s bucket list is to hunt bears with his family. Driving, riding a horse, and talking to people come easily to him. Tristen’s very first car was a 2003 Chevy Silverado single cab named Wimpy. Tristen would love to play the role of Kevin Costner because he is quick to think and slow to speak.
In Tristen’s near future, he plans to attend a tech school and go into the building trade to become a carpenter. In 10 years Tristen sees himself married with a family. Tristen states “I recommend trying new sports and spending quality time with your family”. If 5 million dollars were given to Tristen, he would spend it on a ranch, then he would donate some to people in need. Advice Tristen would give to underclassmen is to “work hard in school, be nice, and care for others”.
