“Cooking Up With Courtney”

Born and raised in Madison, South Dakota, Courtney Jade Dixon, also known as “Pipsqueak” to her mother or “Pablo” to friends, is one of the four members of her family. Courtney’s family consists of her mother, brother, and grandma, as well as six cats and a dog. One item she could not live without would be her father’s motorcycle satchel, which she says, “Symbolizes the part of my father that I have left.”

Courtney works at Madison’s local McDonald’s and enjoys the humor that comes along with her co-workers. Although she would rather eat food from Los Tapatios, she enjoys cooking at school. If she is not cooking, she is most likely writing, taking walks, playing games, driving around Lake Herman, or watching The Andy Griffith Show. Her favorite animal is a frog as they are cute and simple creatures.

When she graduates she plans to go to Mitchell Technical College for her culinary arts associate's degree, and when done she would like to move up north. In the future, she would like to enjoy a comfy life with her boyfriend and a successful career in the food industry. One quote that helps her throughout high school life is, “If every pork chop were perfect, we wouldn't have hotdogs.” Advice she would give underclassmen is, “Do what you want as long as you don’t hurt yourself or others.” Later on in life she hopes to get an industrial piercing, become a chef, have a pet rabbit, and visit Germany. Her favorite memory from high school is when her culinary two class failed at making baked Alaska, yet they tried to eat them anyway.
