Dayton Trinity Makes Room, a 17-year-old senior at Madison High School, has not always lived here in Madison. Coming from Mission, SD in the 7th grade, Dayton lives with his grandmother and two uncles. He notes that he has four siblings, two brothers and two sisters, that do not live with him at the moment. Dayton works at Bethel Lutheran Home, where he listens to the residents speak of their youth, talk about their experiences, and give advice.
When it comes to free time, Dayton enjoys playing video games such as Apex Legends or working out at the gym. While he works out, Dayton listens to his favorite genres of music, rap and hiphop. When asked what content he would make if he were an online influencer, Dayton replied that he would make fitness content, adding onto his affinity for working out. If he could play any fictional character, Dayton responded with Superman. “It’s an unbeatable choice… You can conquer worlds or be the savior of worlds.”
The future of Dayton Makes Room seems bright, as he intends to join the Marine Corp. following graduation. In fact, he’s already sworn in! Within the next decade, Dayton wants to become a Staff Sergeant. When asked what drew him to the Marines, Dayton stated that it was a hard branch to get into, and “if [he] can accomplish getting into the Marines, [he] could accomplish even more someday.”
As the curtains draw to a close on Dayton’s high school career, and he reflects on the past four years of his life, he debates what he would recommend to the underclassmen. In the end, Dayton said “I recommend going to the gym… As a good way to stay healthy and extend your life.” Of course, thinking of recommendations for his younger peers makes him think of his own future. Items on his own bucket list include hunting a grizzly bear– as he has never hunted before– purchasing an exotic car, and travelling the world.
