Justine Shafer is a 17-year-old senior who lives in Madison, South Dakota. Her family consists of her mom, Amy; dad, Jim; and three brothers: Cam, Treton, and Chris. She was born and raised in Madison but would like to live in England or Ireland “because of their unique, different ways of living.”
Justine would describe herself as quirky. Her favorite TV show is Gravity Falls; her favorite movie is Beetlejuice, and her favorite book is The War That Saved My Life. A couple of fun facts about her are: she has memorized the entire Broadway Beetlejuice soundtrack “because each song tells a different aspect of the original Beetlejuice story.” She also hopes to travel to Japan someday. Justine is also scared of social interactions, but that doesn’t stop her from doing what she loves.
When not at school, you might see Justine at The Office in Madison where she enjoys working. In school, Justine enjoys learning about English and math because she finds them interesting. Justine’s biggest piece of advice for students in high school would be to not overthink things, and high school is not as hard as people make it out to be. After high school, Justine hopes to attend Southeast Tech. As a young child, Justine always wanted to become a teacher, but now plans to study cyber security. In 10 years, Justine hopes to have a stable job outside of Madison.
