The Madison High School Girls Tennis Team recently competed in the first State A Tennis meet in South Dakota history. In the past, there had been one state meet in which teams of all classes, all the way from B up to AA, had to compete against each other. This created a pattern at state meets past and discouraged many smaller schools from starting tennis programs. However, thanks to the valiant efforts of Rob Graham and Bud Postma, this year South Dakota split their state tennis into two meets, a State A and State AA meet.
With a fair playing field, flight one singles, CC Graham, championed 5th place at the first State A meet. Mya Maxwell, flight two singles, received 6th place and Emma Kruger was awarded 4th in flight four singles. The flight one doubles team, Lily Wolff and CC Graham, got 6th place. The Madison team was also awarded 6th place overall.
