Mitchell Steven Williams is good at everything and bad at nothing. Mitch strives to be a perfectionist, and when asked, he would tell you he is very successful. Whether it is in Mr. Bierschbach’s room solving complex calculus equations, or banging 50-foot putts on the disc golf course, although this interviewer has never seen it, he truly does it all.
Mitch is the son of Amy and Steve Williams. He has one brother, Matt and one sister, Morgan. He is 18 years old and loves himself some prime rib with au jus. He currently is employed at Pizza Ranch and SBS where he eats lots of free food. He also takes full advantage of his paid holidays and Christmas bonus.
When Mitch gets rich, he would donate $4 million to the country of Africa and another $1 million on growing the sport of disc golf. He is a funny and smart guy. This is why he compared himself to the cartoon character Phineas, from the Disney show Phineas and Ferb. He is always trying to invent non-needed gadgets like Phineas. He said that if he could pursue any dream job, he would be an astronaut.
Obi-Wan Kenobi and Mitchell Williams are basically the same person. Mitch likes to think of himself as a “Jedi warrior and a responsible dad.” This Jedi intellect enhances his disc golf game tremendously. It also led to Mitch placing third at the South Dakota State Disc Golf Championships in the Junior Division, when he shot 78 over par, only 44 strokes behind the first-place finisher.
Disc golf isn’t the only thing Mitch excels in. He tore up the junior varsity football team until his senior year when he broke the starting lineup and became a linebacker for the varsity team. He also plays baseball and plays almost every position, including pitcher. I have been told he has pitched a few no-hitters with his lightning-quick fastball and unhittable curveball. He also is very involved with ministry and, more specifically, the Teens Encounter Christ program. Mitch attends this retreat four times a year where he gets to dive deeper into his faith and meet many new people. One of his favorite memories is attending TEC #15 where he got little to no sleep and met a lot of new friends.
Mitch plans to attend either the School of Mines in Rapid City or Bethel University in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He wants to study electrical engineering. During college, he is looking forward to more freedom, meeting new people, and new disc golf courses. In ten years, Mitch sees himself working as an engineer for a very successful company, married, and having children of his own, “preferably three.”
Mitch has excelled in almost everything he has ever done and will continue to excel in the future. You never know, one day you might hear that he is responsible for the electrical engineering of a brand new Tesla model.
