Nathan Lee Meyer, born May 10, 2002, is 17 years old and the oldest of three kids. He is a hunter, sports photographer and watcher. He is also a manager of the Madison Pizza Ranch. Nathan is accompanied at home by his dad Justin, who is the Madison Chief of Police, his mom Kerrie, his two younger siblings 13-year-old Jack and 14-year-old Claire, and his two dogs Gunner and Molly. Although he doesn’t mind being the oldest, Nathan says that “there is a lot of taxiing.” He doesn’t have to drive his younger siblings to school, however, because he lives only one block from the school so they walk daily.
Nathan spends a large portion of his free time managing the Madison Pizza Ranch, where he's worked for three years. The flexible hours and "never boring" time he spends with his coworkers, especially Daniel Bounds, makes the job enjoyable. Surrounded by pizza for hours daily, it is no surprise that Nathans’s favorite food is not pizza. Instead, he enjoys a perfectly cooked steak along with a plain baked potato and an ice-cold water.
Unlike some his age, Nathan doesn’t really watch movies or tv. Instead, he spends his time staying active. As well as walking to school, Nathan, alongside his hunting dog Gunner, is an avid deer and pheasant hunter. He also enjoys disc golfing with his friends and watching his favorite baseball team, the Angels. His favorite player on the Angels team is the center fielder, Mike Trout. When asked if he could spend 24 hours with anyone, there was no hesitation - he would spend it with Mike Trout. Nathan says that he would choose to hang out with Trout because he “seems really interesting and chill.”
Nathan’s life has been greatly impacted by sports. He discovered his love of sports photography years ago as a small child through collecting sports cards. He was fascinated at how well the pictures could come out. As the need arose for a sports photographer at Madison High School, he didn’t even think twice about it. He is now a highly skilled sports photographer and, with his talent, he hopes to pursue a career in graphic design - specifically sports design. In the industry, he hopes to create advertisements and posters for his favorite sports: football, baseball, and rodeo. Ten years from now, Nathan hopes to be done with school and working in the sports design field.
Nathan loves to travel. His advice to others would be “traveling someplace you didn’t think you’d like.” He has been to Germany and would recommend it to anyone. He would love to be on The Amazing Race so he can travel all over the globe. Plus, if he could have any superpower, it would be teleportation so he could travel anywhere in the world quickly; his first stop would be Alaska.
Nathan has surely left an impact on the people in the Madison community. His optimistic attitude and hardworking nature will help him to be focused on his future and will ensure him to continue positively impacting lives around him in his future.
