Kylie Ann Krusemark is a 17-year-old South Dakota native who was born in Pierre, South Dakota.  A couple of years after birth, her family moved east to Madison, South Dakota. Kylie is part of a family of four: her dad, Stacy; mom, Stephanie; her older brother, Kaden, and herself as the youngest.

Kylie is involved in many activities and sports including gymnastics, volleyball, and track and field, senior ambassador, HOSA, and  National Honor Society. Along with her extracurricular activities, she has a job as a gymnastics coach which she finds rewarding being able to help aspiring gymnasts become better athletes. This job is full of fun moments.  Kylie mentioned that once “at one point we told the kids there were snakes in the foam pit in order to hurry them out of the foam pit. However, after a while, we did inform them there were no snakes in the foam pit.”

In her free time, she likes watching movies such as her favorites which are Pitch Perfect, Sing, and Trolls. Not only are these movies her favorite, but she also enjoys rewatching them whenever she sees them playing on different channels on TV. Along with her favorite movies, her favorite TV show is Young and Hungry. Also in her free time, she enjoys walking her chihuahua named Roger and spending time with friends.

One thing Kylie would recommend is for people to travel to new places. Out of all the places she could live for a year, she would go to Anna Maria, Florida for the warmth and the ocean. Speaking of traveling, on her bucket list she would want to scuba dive, which could be done while in Florida, and travel to New Zealand to experience the natural beauty and culture.

After high school, Kylie is planning on going to college to major in exercise science and then attend physical therapy school. She isn’t sure where to go for college but is thinking it will likely be in South Dakota where she hopes to compete in track and field. Within 10 years, she sees herself having a family, a house in a rural part setting, and working as a physical therapist. If given the chance to give advice when she was 10 years old, she would tell herself what many need to hear, especially at 10 years old: “Be confident and keep being yourself.”
