In a quiet town like Madison, young students can either triumph or flounder. One such eighteen-year-old, Alexandra Gutierrez chose triumph. This particular Madison resident likes the color pink and enjoys any home-cooked meal from her mom, America. She also lives with her father, Carlos, and her two brothers, Dael and Noel.
However, what makes Alexandra an outstanding person is her desire to help those in need. Not only does she talk about or try to physically help those in need, she even dreams about it. If she could complete any of her dreams without failure, she would become a philanthropist and help those in underdeveloped countries who need support. Moreover, if she could have any superpower in the world, she would choose the ability to multiply objects (food) so she could end world hunger. Her desire to show kindness and assist everyone truly characterizes her as a person.
Alexandra plans on pursuing nursing through SDSU and/or STI tech. In ten years she sees herself helping others through a nursing career, owning lots of dogs, driving a big white truck, and raising a family. One of the most important things to Alexandra is family. If she could live anywhere in the world for a year, she would choose to live in Mexico to connect with her family heritage. She would even spend five million dollars on her family, that is, if she couldn’t spend a single cent of it on herself.
Finally, Alexandra would characterize her last year as similar to corn. Just like how corn is always appealing to Alexandra, so too was her last year good. However, some corn is better than others, just like how Alexandra’s life had triumphs and pitfalls. Despite those pitfalls, she still strives to be the best person and to enjoy life in the process. Her secret to finding happiness in most situations is the same secret she will use throughout her life, which is finding “happiness in the ordinary.”
