The Madison High School Gymnastics team kicked off their season with the first meet on November 30th against Deuel High School. The Bulldogs beat Deuel with a score of 131.85 to Deuel’s 128.80. Later that week they traveled to Hendricks, MN, winning that meet 132.35 to 125.70. 

The next week on December 7th, their meet was against West Central High School. Madison had many first place finishes. Starting with Kylie Krusemark who won vault with a score of 9.1, she also got third on both beam and bars. On bars Olivia Flemming won with a score of 7.85, Flemming also got third on bars and in the all-around. Madison’s Raena Rost had three first place finishes, in the all-around with a 31.7, and on the beam and floor. The varsity team beat West Central 127.4 to 103.7.

Madison’s JV gymnastics team also had a good meet against West Central. Sophia Petereins won the all-around with a 29.4. Peterreins also won bars and beam, she got second on vault, and fifth on floor. Fiona Donelan won the vault with a 8.25 and Sophia Sudenga won floor with a 7.8. The JV team also beat West Central. 

On December 14th Madison held a triangular meet against Huron and Yankton. The junior varsity team also competed with the other teams. Raena Rost placed in three events, third on vault, second on beam, and she won the floor with a 9.4. Krusemark won the vault with a 9.2. In the all-around, Flemming placed third with a score of 33. Yankton’s Alison Johnson won the all-around, bars, and beam. Johnson placed second on vault and floor. Huron placed 4th in the competition, Madison JV placed third, Yankton second, and Madison varsity won the meet with a 134.150.

The Bulldogs next meet is scheduled for January 6th, at home, against O’Gorman
