Seventeen-year-old Braxton Robert Bender, better known as “Bender '' at Madison High School, is often behind the scenes of many sporting events and play productions. He has been on the tech crew for One Act and Spring plays, run the clock and score for football games, and run the DAK board for basketball and volleyball games, Bender has also participated in FFA on the Ag mechanics team and is a member of Spirit of Madison Frontline. Because Bender participates in so many activities, he is able to stay busy during high school, and his advice for underclassmen is, “do as many extracurricular activities as you possibly can''.
When Bender is not at school you can see him driving his 1500 Dodge Ram Pickup, which is something he could not live without. Teleportation is the superpower Bender would want to have so he doesn’t have to spend so much money on gas. Another thing he could not live without is his job at Runnings. Bender enjoys his job at Runnings because it gives him something to do. He can not stand to be bored. He also enjoys his job because of his co-workers and learning new things.
Braxton spends any time that he is not working or attending school working on car restorations, hunting, fishing, or spending time with family. He lives with his mom, Kellie, and his dad Bryan; he also has two younger brothers, Avery and Mason. Something else he likes to do in his free time is watching 80s comedy movies, especially Adam Sandler movies because that is his favorite actor and describes him as “such an icon”.
After high school, Bender plans to attend Mitchel Tech to get an electrical construction and maintenance degree. He will then work as a residential electrician. In the next ten years, Bender sees him married with kids living on an acreage outside of Madison. He also hopes to eventually own and operate his own residential electric company.
