Mallorie Rose Schultz, also known as Mal, Malzy, or Mu is a daughter to Lori and Terry Schultz. Mallorie is a 17-year-old senior at Madison High School. She has a sister (Makena), 2 dogs Charlie (Goldendoodle), and Lucy (Yorkie). She has not always lived in Madison, South Dakota. Mallorie and her family used to live on the Lakes Golf Course; they moved to Madison on her 6th birthday. She did not attend Madison Elementary School until the 3rd grade.
Mallorie’s favorite color is yellow because it is a calm and bright color. Her favorite food is brownies, specifically Kris Morse’s caramel brownies. Her favorite T.V. shows and movies include Criminal Minds, Chicago Med, Fast and the Furious, and The Avengers. Her favorite subject in school is math because there is only one answer to the problem, which is easy for her. Mallorie says that a Maltipoo dog best describes her. This is because they are highly intelligent, active, and affectionate. They are small dogs that think they are stronger than they are. If she could play a character in a movie or T.V. show she would play Jennifer Jareau because she is a strong, empowered female.
Math, science, and talking to people are some things that come easy to her. One food that describes the last year of her life is Mac and Cheese because she ate a lot of it during Covid. She could not live without her phone because it is how she communicates and stays organized. Mallorie’s bucket list consists of traveling, skydiving, getting a tattoo, and owning a doggie daycare.
If she could have a super-power she would want the power to stop time. She gets overwhelmed and it would make her feel better to slow time down. Mallorie has a fear of bodies of water that are dark and you can’t see through. Mallorie said, “ I love to go tubing but one time I fell off the tube and got scared so I curled up in a ball in the water and screamed.”
Mallorie looks up to her Grandma Marlys because she is always happy, kind, and loves everyone. When she graduates high school she plans to attend college. She plans to either go to South Dakota State University or the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities to study Human Biology. She then plans to go to medical school and have her residency in Pediatric Oncology. In ten years Mallorie sees herself entering her third year of residency, married to a handsome man, with 4 dogs, and a kid. Mallorie said, “I recommend giving a chance to something you might not like.”
