On Thursday, September 22, the Madison Cross-Country Team went to the Clark Cross-Country Invitational in Clark, South Dakota at the Clark Municipal Golf Course and Clubhouse. The head coach of the Madison Bulldog Cross Country team is Robert Cordts and the assistant coaches are Nicole Troxell and Brian Keller. The races that took place were a girls varsity race, boys varsity race, girls junior varsity race, and boys junior varsity race.
The medalists for the girl’s varsity were Jesse Tappe in 5th, Ellie Keller in 9th, Sammy Troxell in 14th, and Lou Schladweiler in 17th. The girls got 3rd place overall in varsity.
The medalists for the boy’s varsity were Dylan Gerdes in 2nd, Henry Meyer in 9th, Deion Cross in 10th, Nathan Hasleton in 18th, and Daniel Aldridge in 19th. The boys won 2nd place overall in varsity.
The top runners who got a ribbon for girl’s junior varsity were Emily Lanners in 7th, Hayden Hansen in 8th, Rachel Bonner in 12th, Delaney Feistner in 13th, Renae Hass in 15th, Maggie Engebretson in 18th, and Addy Meyer in 20th.
The top runners who got a ribbon for the boy’s junior varsity were Frankie Mottl in 4th, Grant Hasleton in 6th, and Zach Ryan in 8th.
The next race the Madison Cross Country Team will attend is at the Volga-Meadow Creek Golf Course in Volga, South Dakota on Tuesday, September 28 at 4 pm.
