Having just recently moved to Madison, SD beginning her senior year, Emerson Lindley joined the Spirit of Madison marching band. Despite her unfamiliar environment, she performed at every band competition for the entirety of the band season. When asked about moving to Madison, Emerson revealed her family had moved several times, bouncing around from Mount Horeb, Wisconsin, to Dubuque, Iowa, then to Omaha, Nebraska, before moving back to Dubuque. After that, she moved to Ashland, Nebraska, and finally to Madison, South Dakota.
Emerson has a total of five family members; those are her mother, Koren; her father, Steven; her older brother, Aiden; her younger sister, Zoe; and her young brother, Brigham. Her hobbies consist of sleeping as well as reading, so when asked for a book recommendation, she offers The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid. Her favorite things are the color lavender, the film 10 Things I Hate About You, and English classes.
When asked about her plans after high school, Emerson plans to attend college for environmental science, and ten years from now, she sees herself as an environmental consultant.
